EVENT: Everyday Advocacy: How to Help When You’re Not Sure How
Everyday Advocacy: How to Help When You’re Not Sure How
You care about mental health.
You check in on your friends, listen when someone’s having a hard time, maybe even drop off a meal or send a “thinking of you” text. But sometimes, especially when things feel serious, you wonder:
What should I actually do?
Am I helping? What if I say the wrong thing?
Is this something the Coalition could help with?
We get it. And we’ve heard those questions a lot.
That’s why we’re inviting you to something new:
Everyday Advocacy: A One-Hour Gathering for People Who Want to Help
🗓 Tuesday, October 28th
🕠 5:30–6:30 PM
📍 Mental Health Coalition Office – 76 N Main St, Suite 206, Driggs
☕ Snacks and non-alcoholic drinks provided.
🪑 Space is limited. RSVP by call/text or email.
What to expect:
This isn’t a lecture or a clinical training. It’s a hands-on hour of connection where you’ll:
-
Learn how to make a simple crisis response plan
-
Build confidence in supporting someone who’s struggling
-
Practice how to talk about what the Coalition does
-
Connect with others who care deeply about mental health
No experience needed. Just bring your curiosity, care, and a willingness to learn.
Whether you’re a parent, teacher, neighbor, barista, coworker, or friend, you are part of the web of care in this valley.
We’d love to help you feel a little more confident in your role.
Why it matters:
Most people want to help.
But not everyone knows how to navigate a hard conversation or where to turn when someone says, “I’m not okay.”
This gathering is one small way we’re making mental health support more visible, doable, and shared.
Because advocacy isn’t just for professionals.
It’s for all of us, in everyday moments, with everyday tools.
Want to come?
RSVP today by texting 208-354-6198 or emailing info@tetonvalleymentalhealth.com.
We’ll send you a confirmation and let you know what to expect.
Bring a friend! The more, the merrier (and mightier).
Together, we’re building a community where everyone knows how to help.
