TEMPORARY PROGRAM & OFFICE ASSISTANT
The Opportunity
The Mental Health Coalition of Teton Valley is hiring a temporary staff member to help us execute day-to-day tasks that keep our programs, events, and communications running smoothly. This role is task-oriented and works under the direction of the Executive Director and team. It’s perfect for someone organized, friendly, and eager to learn how a small nonprofit operates.
Who You Are
You’re reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable following checklists and clear instructions. You’re tech-savvy enough to post on social media, update simple web content, and send newsletters using templates. You don’t need prior mental health or nonprofit experience, just a warm presence, a coachable attitude, and a willingness to pitch in.
What You’ll Do (Assigned Tasks)
Communications & Outreach
- Post to Instagram and Facebook using provided content and templates
- Update basic blog/website posts and send newsletters from templates
- Share event information to community calendars and partners
- Hang flyers and distribute print materials around the valley
Programs & Events Support
- Help set up/tear down at events and trainings
- Assemble Emotional First Aid bags and other program kits
- Track simple counts (kits made, flyers distributed, event attendance)
- Assist with scheduling volunteers, partners, and venue rentals
Office & Administrative
- Answer phones and respond to general emails with warmth and professionalism
- Maintain office stock and keep inventory organized (supplies, print materials, kits)
- Run errands (post office, printing, supply pick-ups)
- Support calendar updates, simple data entry, and basic filing
What Helps You Succeed (Qualifications)
- Reliability, punctuality, and strong follow-through
- Comfort with Google Workspace (Docs/Sheets/Drive), plus Canva/Mailchimp (or willingness to learn)
- Clear, kind communication in person and in writing
- Ability to lift/move boxes up to ~25 lbs on occasion and support event set-ups
- Reliable transportation for errands and flyer runs (mileage reimbursed per policy)
- Spanish proficiency is a plus, not required
Supervision & Support
This role will be directly supervised. You’ll receive clear priorities, checklists, and regular check-ins. No project leadership or strategy responsibilities are expected.
Details
Type: Temporary, non-exempt staff position (with potential to become permanent)
Timeline: Start ASAP through December 31, 2025
Hours: Up to 30 hours/week, with flexibility depending on candidate availability
Compensation: $20-25/hour
Reports to: Executive Director
Location: Driggs, ID (in-person with occasional local travel; some tasks may be done remotely with approval)
Schedule: Weekdays with occasional evenings/weekends for events
Physical Working Conditions

- Accessing the office via a flight of stairs
- Exposure to moderate noise
- Sitting/standing, moving between offices, using a computer and phone
- Attending community events where accessibility cannot be guaranteed
