The Lt Smooth event was a tremendous success! Around 50 people were treated to
an intimate story of courage and survival expressed through music. Lt was a great
speaker and had the entire audience captivated and at times even emotional. His story
is a reminder to all of us that we can overcome any obstacle that is place before us. Thanks to Donna and all those who helped make this even special.
The TVMHC again participated in Teton Valley’s local community fundraiser called “Tin Cup.” Our booth was busy this year with folk interested in mental health and collecting resources. We had a local juvenile who was on probation complete a poster about drug use that was very popular among adults and children alike. Thanks to Sara for helping set this up and huge thanks to the folks at the Community Foundation who put together this event.
Mental Health Awareness Month
The TVMHC is again particpating in mental health awareness month. This year, we are using the b4stage4 campain from mental health america. There will be 4 full page ads that are running each week in the Teton Valley News. In addition, coalition members are writing weekly editorials that focus on many common mental health issues. Huge thanks to Scott and the Teton Valley News for their continued dedication!

The Teton Valley Mental Health Coalition once again hosted Dr. Barrett and the Center for Change for a four hour long training in Victor Idaho. With a waitlist, this training was in high demand thanks to Dr. B’s legendary speaking abilities. His practical, emphatic and appropriate sense of humility makes for a great training that will not soon be forgotten.
Huge thanks to Kari and Dr. B from the Center for Change and the Teton Valley Mental Health Coalition for making this possible.
